Stock Market is Very HOT now!!!

Trust me, the stock market is really hot now. Try to go to any nearby pasar and listen to their conversations. Chances are there that someone is talking about which stock to buy and which will go up next week. This is the time for you to review your holding and cash in whichever stock that may have limited upside. The bear might be here soon..

Yes the stock market might still rally, possibly until end of the year. This normally happens after CNY and before election. If you cash out too early, you might miss the boat. So to be on the safe side, put your money on fundamentally strong companies. These companies might not rally that much, as some of them are laggard stocks.

Well for me, I'm going to cash out half of my holding and wait for opportunity to come. Half of my money, I'm going to either put in REITS or foreign stock market.
It's not a bad time to invest in some of the bluechips on NYSE or NASDAQ. Ringgit is strong now, you don't need to fork out as much as you need in the past to buy the same stock. Th stock might have up a lot, but still you're paying less in RM. I believe RM will continue to appreciate against the USD, but the upside is quite limited. And eventually the hot money that flows into our local stock market will be flowing to the opposite direction once the local market is not cheap anymore. This will cause RM to depreciate against the USD.

Of course, I'm not asking you to pull out totally from the local stock market. One way to have a safer investment is to "hedge" your holding by spreading your investments into the local and US market. I'm still new to the Wallstreet, and heck I have a lot to learn to trade in NYSE and NASDAQ. In fact' I have only started to learn about investing in the US market recently. I have bought a book called "Rule #1
"by Phil Town. It teaches you to look for the 5 numbers of a company that are important for stock investing. Quite useful for US market, but not really applicable to our local SE (too many GLCs). Overall, the book is about choosing and buying undervalued and fundamentally good companies shares. Besides that, I have also "subscribed" to this report: How to hack the stock market. The name doesn't sound too good (there's no such thing as hacking the stock market)? But I give it a try, to look at the reports which were written by the author (I do not know who's the author anyway) on how to spot a good stock. Basically, same as Rule #1, it's teaching you to choose fundamentally good stock, but with the addition of some technical analysis. I'll try to use their methods to spot a good trade and start "trading" with my game account. If everything goes smooth, I'll trade with real money :)

So are you ready to join the bandwagon? Let's do it together!

I'm Back!

I'm back finally.. to the blogging world.

It's been 4 months since I last blogged. Well, at least it's not another 7 months.

OK, I mentioned that I've bought Bjcorp and Hevea in my last post. For your information, I have sold my Hevea @ RM0.785 and earned around 15% from my cost. I could have sold it higher at 0.80++. But I was too greedy, hoping that it can hit RM1. Too bad it did not happen and now it's on down trend. As for bjcorp, I'm still holding at 15% paper gain. I'm gonna hold this until the special dividend is officially declared. Divi= RM0.045 or use the special divi to buy 2 unit ICULS of HK Cosway. I have made some calculation on the "free" ICULS and it looks promising:

every 1 unit of bjcorp share = RM0.045 special dividend
every 2 unit of bjcorp shares = right to buy 1 Cosway ICULS

the option here is you can use the special dividend to buy 1 ICULS.

example:
10000 bjcorp shares --> right to buy 5000 unit of Cosway ICULS
use all the special dividend to buy 5000 unit Cosway ICULS

the interesting part is:
you can convert the Cosway ICULS to the mother share for free. 1 ICULS = 1 Cosway. meaning you'll have 5000 unit of Cosway. Cosway is now trading at HK$0.95 = RM0.37. With 5000 of Cosway, you'll have: RM0.37 * 5000 = RM1850.

Wow you'll be getting RM1850 of free money. And the best part is only RM0.045 will deducted from bjcorp share price.

Sounds too good to be true? maybe! The special dividend is currently a proposal (since end of april 2010). Anything can change, still.

That's my opinion, and I'm not trying to influence anyone to buy bjcorp now. It's purely my view on this company.

Oh yeah, I have also quick kill on Gadang recently. Bought @ 0.85 and sold @ 0.93. Enough for 1 week of expenses.. :)

7 months without posting!

Wow, it's been 7 months since my last post. I hope there are still a few of you who are still reading my blog.

I was busy with my work in the office and my own projects. Here are some quick recap:
1. Was away to oversea for job assignment.
2. Study on property investment
3. Study on Forex Trading
4. Study on Affiliate Marketing
5. Study on stock market

Talking about stock market, I have sold my GENS-C1 with RM2k++ profit. I'm glad to make profit from this call warrant because my paper loss was once at RM4k. Thanks to the super excellent quarterly report of GENS (SGX:G13), the mother share rose to historic high. Pheww.. I promise that I won't touch any call warrant in the future.

As for Success Transformer, I have sold it with peanut's gain. It went up quite a lot but I didn't sell it because I've expected more from it. Greedy me.

Since then, I have bought in also a few stocks. They are, Hevea and Bjcorp. Both stocks had gone down a bit since my purchase. More details about them in my next post.

About forex trading, I still think that it's not my cup of tea (too risky for me). Nevertheless, here are some resources for any of you that interested in forex trading:
1. Babypips (resourceful for beginner)
2. Forex Robot (for those of you that trust the bot to trade for you)
3. Mr Kishore M, a forex trading guru from Singapore(he has conducted many forex courses in many countries). Some say that he's a scammer, rather that forex guru. Here's a good write up about this guy: Kishore M, the forex guru

I guess that's about it for today. Will post again on other topics, once I'm free. :)

PS: I'll try to post my stocks transactions also in the future.

Updates on JCY International

As promised, an update for JCY international ipo. I know the subscription period has ended today at 5pm. The outcome is I did not subscribe. I repeat: I DID NOT SUBSCRIBE JCY INTERNATIONAL IPO. One of the reason is the PE is a lil' too high if we were to compare to its peer, Notion Vtec. PE for JCY is 20 while for Notion it's only 12. Of course it might rise to RM2.20 on its first day of listing. But in the long run, it might lose its steam and eventually will go to its fair value, which is PE around 15-18.

Other than the PE thingy, here's the reason why I did not make any move for it: I LOVE NOTION VTEC

Anyway, I also did not get my hands on Notion. Today I bought in something, GENS-C1. It's one of the call warrant for Genting Singapore listed in KLSE. There are 5 GENS call warrant in KLSE. So why GENS-C1? Basically, its because of the low premium. I don't wanna show the premium calculation here. You can calculate it yourself (you can drop me a comment if you're desperate for the calculation). Why GENS call warrant now? Because of the casino license. Eventually it will fly. Let's see if it really flies before CNY. :D

Frying my brain daily..

Everyday, I spend around an hour talking on the phone. And, I have been doing that for the past few years. Reason is I'm too lazy to text.

I'll place the phone next to my ear (of course la, put at your butt meh?), when I'm having my conversation via my cell. Sometimes, during my conversation, I'll feel a lil' uncomfortable and I can feel the heat at my ear. I know it has to do with the radiation from the cellphone, but I've never bothered about its effect to me. Yes, I've been hearing that talking via cellphone will cause brain tumor and etc, all sort of things. But I think it is not scientifically proven. And recently, I read an article on cellphone radiation. Guess what.. the cellphone radiation is actually useful in preventing Alzheimer's disease. Read this.

Well, till now I'm still not too sure if cellphone radiation is harmful to human. But nevertheless, I have recently made a wise decision by getting myself a pair of bluetooth headset. Its from Nokia.. who don't like Nokia stuffs! Did I mention 'wise decision'? I thought I have just said that there's no proven fact that cellphone radiation is harmful, and now what? The reason I think it's good to talk via bluetooth headset is the permitted power when it's receiving and transmitting signal to the cellphone. There are 3 classes of bluetooth, which is categorized by the maximum operating range. Class 1 refers to maximum operating range of 100m, while Class 2 and 3 refers to 10m and 1m respectively. Remember this, in order to have higher operating range, the permitted power must be higher. When the power is higher, the energy involved is also higher. OK, I don't wish to go into details... To make it simple: Class1~100mW, Class2~2.5mW, Class3~1mW. As for cellphone, the power permitted is 2W. Now you can see the difference between cellphone and bluetooth's power. To make the calculation simple, assume you talk via your cell for 1 hour (=60minutes=3600seconds). The energy involved is 2W x 3600s = 7200J. If you use bluetooth headset for your conversation, here's the calculation: Class1=360J, Class2=9J and Class3=3.6J. The differences between talking with and without bluetooth is so significant!

So, which one to choose? Luckily, there's not much choice when choosing bluetooth headset. Most of them come with Class 2 bluetooth hardware. I believe it's rare to have class1 for bluetooth headset because of its power, and by the way, why do you need such a big operation range? Your phone is not walkie talkie dude. No class3 because, you don't need it when you're so close to your phone. No point having double radiation.

My advice to all of you who can't live without cellphone, please get a bluetooth headset today. You do not want to become like this:

PS: I'm not involve in any bluetooth headset distribution business. Please do not email or message me for bluetooth headsets' prices. Thanks. :D

Success Transformer (again)

Today, the share price went as high as RM1.27 before closing at RM1.23. The share price is up not only because the market sentiment is better (dow jones up more than 100pts the night before), but also due to the post by this famous blogger: http://malaysiafinance.blogspot.com/2010/02/seremban-engineering-ipo-approved.html

I believe there are many willing buyers at current level of price. Of course, this counter has a lot of upside potential, and RM1.70 is achieveable in near future. Normally the price surge will be more obvious when there's official announcement regarding their corporate exercise. For Success' case, is when they officially announce the allocation of SEB ipo to STC shareholders, and the entitlement date.

Let's continue to monitor this counter for the rest of the week. If it manages to go above RM1.30 and stays there, the announcement is near. :D

JCY INTERNATIONAL BERHAD

JCY International Bhd, will be Malaysia’s second-largest initial public offering in six years, as they offer 25.9 percent of its stock in its IPO.

JCY’s will offer as many as 530.2 million shares, where 470,317,000 of the shares will be offered to institutional investors and the remainder (59,893,000: 40,898,000 to Malaysian public via balloting, 18,995,000 Eligible Directors, employees and persons who have contributed to the success of JCY) to individuals.

The sale may raise as much as RM1 billion (US$295 million), and that would make it the second-largest IPO in six years in Malaysia, after Maxis Bhd.’s record RM11.2 billion offering last year.

The retail price is currently set at RM2.00 per share and it can go lower if the institutional price is below RM2.11 (Final retail price will be either RM2.00 or 95% of the institutional price, whichever is lower).

Here are the tentative dates for this IPO:
Listing Schedule
Prospectus Date 01/02/2010
Opening of Applications 01/02/2010
Closing of Applications 08/02/2010
Tentative Balloting Date 11/02/2010
Tentative Allotment Date 24/02/2010
Tentative Listing Date 25/02/2010

Currently I'm still studying the prospectus, and has yet to decide to subscribe to this ipo. Of course the price for the opening day might be affected by the market sentiments. It can be the next Maxis where the price will shoot up on the first day of listing and remain stagnant for quite sometime. More updates on this ipo very soon! Stay tune folks!
